HIPAA Security Rule assessments

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) created the Security Rule to establish a minimum standard for the security of electronic personal health information (EPHI) used by covered entities (CEs). The final rule was published on February 20, 2003, and became effective April 21, 2003. Compliance deadline was April 21, 2005.

Under this Security Rule, CEs are responsible for accessing potential risks and vulnerabilities to EPHI that is in their possession.

VantagePoint Security’s HIPAA risk analysis will assess your level of compliance with the requirements outlined in the standards and specifications of the Security Rule.

Findings and recommendations for correcting any identified deficiencies will be reported in a format that is in keeping with our high-quality reporting standards – making them easy to read and understand.
